We are seeking a Primary Design Engineer/Designer to join our supportive and passionate team.
This role focuses on zone substation primary design, including:
- 66kV GIS buildings
- 22kV AIS systems
- Control building design projects
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver primary substation design solutions (including substations up to 500kV, earthing, lighting, and cable design)
- Develop designs in line with AS 2067, relevant standards, and Safety in Design requirements
- Coordinate with secondary, civil, and project teams to ensure integrated design delivery
- Review and verify internal and external design outputs and manufacturer drawings
- Support scoping and estimation of primary design works
- Contribute to design standards, technical improvements, and innovation initiatives
- Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and project objectives
- Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)
- Experience in the electrical/power industry, ideally within substation design
- Strong understanding of primary substation design (distribution & sub-transmission)
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Understanding of Safety in Design principles
- Working towards or holding NER / RPEng / RPEV (or equivalent)
- RPEQ (advantageous)
