The team at Balpara were employed to deliver electrical and NBN designs as well as project management services for both stages of a new Estate in Leopold, 10km east of Geelong.

Project Overview

This two-stage development is in the mixed urban and coastal suburb of Leopold and comprises a total of 36 lots in a highly desirable area, conveniently situated near beaches, walking trails, local schools, shopping facilities, and public transportation. The Leopold community is poised to experience ongoing growth and development in the near future.

Scope

Balpara’s Responsibilities:

  • Completing a URD design in accordance with Powercor standards.
  • Identifying the need to upgrade the existing point of supply to 315kVA to support the new estate, and installing a new LV Cable Head on the pole substation.
  • Addressing challenges related to the placement of Public Light Pole 8 due to its proximity to other assets, which required diversion of utility assets to enable installation with appropriate clearances.
  • Streamlining and securing approval from Powercor for an updated Base Plan that no longer conforms to the original stage boundaries outlined in the master plan.
  • Requesting Cultural Heritage Management Plan details from the client to ensure the protection of any Indigenous cultural heritage in the area.
