Burwood Hwy Public Lighting – UE Contestable Lighting Installation
July 3, 2026

Balpara was engaged by the developer and United Energy to deliver contestable public-lighting works along Burwood Highway including project management, auditing, and detailing.

Project Overview

Working with a designer and an installation company, the team delivered all upgrades required by United Energy (UE).

This project forms part of UEs ongoing public-lighting improvements along key transport corridors.

At the Burwood Highway and McComas Grove intersection, upgraded lighting was required to enhance safety, visibility, and amenity for road users and the wider community, particularly as the area continues to support major transport and SRLA works.

Balpara ensured the new lighting assets were delivered efficiently, safely, and in accordance with UE’s technical requirements.

Project Scope

Balpara’s role fitted into the broader program by delivering all contestable lighting components needed for UE’s asset upgrade.

Works included installing two new public-lighting poles and adding a new bracket and outreach to an existing pole.

The team completed detailing, auditing, and PM2 project management, coordinated directly with UE for approvals and handover, and ensured all assets were installed to UE technical and safety standards.

All collected information supported compliance, asset registration, and successful final acceptance.

Relevant Accreditation/Quality Standards

  • United Energy Public Lighting Technical Standards (UE-ST-2401)
  • VEDN-accredited auditing and project-management processes
  • All applicable industry and electrical-safety requirements
