St Kilda Rd Bike Path

Balpara was engaged by Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) to assist with upgrading public lighting along the St Kilda Rd bike path. 


Project Overview


MRPV is building new separated bike lanes along St Kilda Rd in Melbourne’s inner south. Balpara is upgrading public lighting as part of the overall project that aims to improve safety for cyclists on what is Victoria’s busiest tram corridor. Balpara also reviewed existing overhead power infrastructure to ensure there were appropriate clearances from public lighting poles. 


Project Scope


  • Reviewing CitiPower overhead power infrastructure 
  • Upgrading public lighting to the appropriate standard 
  • Preventing spill lighting from entering residences 
  • Negotiating with Port Philip City Council


Value Add

 

Balpara was selected to provide the upgrades due to its extensive expertise and experience with public power utilities. This has allowed for the works to be completed with a high level of efficiency and to a high standard.
