Balpara was contracted to carry out detailing and auditing services for the Lathams Road Upgrades in Carrum Downs, as part of Victoria’s Big Build. Project Overview This project involved multiple upgrades across a 2.5km section of Lathams Road. The upgrade included the addition of additional lanes going both ways, upgrading 13 intersections along the road, building a new bridge over the Peninsula Link, adding walking and cycling paths, widening existing roundabouts, and installing safety barriers. The project had a strong emphasis on community consideration and utilising sustainable project materials. As an example, drainage pipes and kerbs installed used recycled plastic and a social procurement strategy was formulated by the developer, Winslow, to actively engage Indigenous businesses, generating meaningful employment and promoting indigenous representation in the construction industry. These upgrades were completed with the intention of improving traffic flow and travel times, enhancing safety for pedestrians and cyclists and boosting the connectivity of local businesses in the Carrum Downs and Seaford community. Lathams Road is a vital road link for many of those in the surrounding community, and as such, these upgrades substantially improve traffic flow and access to surrounding industrial areas. Scope The team at Balpara was engaged to carry out detailing and auditing services for this road upgrade, including detailing, drafting and auditing. Project Overview Major Road Projects Victoria is the organisation behind the North East Link , West Gate Tunnel , and Big Build Roads delivering dozens of essential freeway and road upgrades across the State. It is an ambitious project for Victoria that has been in progress for many years. MRPV’s commitment is to reduce traffic congestion in a State with a growing population, while making the roads that Victorians rely on every day safer for all users. Beyond the impact on Victoria’s transport network, MRPV is working to leave a legacy that benefits communities and provides sustainable employment and supply chain opportunities for some of Victoria’s most disadvantaged groups. Scope These projects are still underway and Balpara continues to work through the various project deliverables across our full suite of services. Balpara was engaged by Latrobe City Council to undertake surveying and design services for path lighting at Burrage Reserve, Newborough.

Balpara was engaged by Hume City Council as part of a streetscape upgrade on Fawkner Street, incorporating safety lighting assessment and design at stage 1.

The Hume City Council contracted Balpara to provide soil contamination testing and geotechnical services in Somerton.

Balpara has been chosen as the Electrical Consultant for Windermere incorporating design and project management.

Balpara was engaged to provide site detailing and drafting for this real estate development in Eastern Victoria.

Balpara was engaged as the primary electrical consultant for the AS 3000 electrical upgrade of the Nagambie Holiday and Caravan Park.

To assist in the upgrade of the Cranbourne Racecourse facilities, the Cranbourne Turf Club enlisted Balpara to provide a suite of services.
